27-year-old man accused of attempted choking

Peter George Michael Carr, of Ivy Terrace, is further charged with common assault, making a threat to kill and criminal damage.

He is also accused of possessing a red hot metal pipe and failing to surrender to bail.

The offences were allegedly committed between November 27 and 28 last year and are of a domestic nature.

An investigating officer told Derry Magistrate’s Court he believed he could connect Carr to the charges.

The defendant was released on continuing bail to appear in court again next month.

As part of his bail conditions, Carr is banned from contacting the complainant and banned from entering the Glenabbey area.

He is also banned from consuming alcohol and must submit to a breath test.
