Learning Pool has been placed in the Sunday Times list of best companies.

Learning Pool employs 70 staff at its base in Patrick Street in Derry and has other employees dotted across the UK. The award was based on a comprehensive survey of overall employee engagement. Learning Pool was awarded the highest possible accreditation of three stars-an accolade reserved for companies regarded to be ‘extraordinary’.

Chief Executive Officer of Learning Pool, Paul McElvaney said: “This is great news for everyone and the result of a concerted team effort to make Learning Pool the most customer centric learning company in the market.

“That journey has made us really think about how we work together as a team so getting this validation is a great achievement. Our business is based around helping organisations improve people through learning and development and this recognition is testament to our team practicing what we preach.”

Learning Pool provides award-winning online training solutions to large organisations, such as Houses of Parliament, Jury’s Inn and Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health.

Since its inception in 2006, the company has taken a proactive approach to its team development, with regular training, ongoing support and it also encourages feedback across all aspects of the business. Since implementing a wide ranging business improvement programme in 2013 they’ve worked hard to create a unique culture with activities such as personal training sessions for the entire team, fresh fruit delivery to the office and a raft of community and charity activities that bind the company together.

Learning Pool also recently introduced a Living Wage policy to ensure that the whole team is appropriately rewarded for the work that they do in going the extra mile for customers.

Jonathan Austin, CEO & Founder of Best Companies commented:” “I would like to congratulate Learning Pool on their outstanding achievement. Our role at Best Companies is to support and encourage organisations to be great workplaces for their employees. An engaged workforce means happier, healthier, more productive and committed employees, which is clearly good news for all. “

As well as taking care of their team, Learning Pool also boasts exceptional customer service and last year won a major accolade in the customer care industry, the Customer Focus Award from the Institute of Customer Service.

The company will find out their ranking on the Sunday Times List at a gala awards ceremony in London on February 24.
