Gortnaghey Community Association host their annual festival, supported by Causeway Coast and Glens Borough Council, Drum Fest, from Saturday 9th July to Sunday 10th July.

The main attraction this year will be the ‘Jivers and Come Alivers Ball’ at the community centre on Saturday night, 10pm – 1am. The Derry-based band Hudson Blue will provide the music. Book tickets by calling 07845231736.

Other events for Saturday include the Mary Armstrong Camogie Blitz at the local St Colm’s GAC grounds at 10.30am.The Jim Burke Memorial Cup Tournament will also take place here at 3pm.

BM Promotions will deliver a Teddy Bears Picnic fun and games at the community centre at 3pm. Please bring your own refreshments and don’t forget Ted. Cost is £3 per child. Activities on Sunday, at the football grounds, include carnival rides on offer from 3-6pm. Among these will be the ever popular foam party, (so be sure and bring a change of clothes) assault course, bouncy castle, Twister Ride, Wipe-out Sweeper and for the under 5’s Jo Jingles sessions start at 3:30pm. Other side activities include BBQ, teas, home baking stall, face paint, tug-war and lots more. The festivities will finish with a Ceili Disco at the community centre from 6-8pm. The cost for this fun filled day will be £4 per head with a maximum of £15 per family.
