Changes to buses and trains in Derry over Christmas

Translink have announced details of changes to buses and trains over the Christmas period.

The Foyle Metro in Derry will run as normal during the day on Christmas Eve this Thursday, but services will stop in the early evening.

There will be no Foyle Metro bus services running on Christmas Day and no service on Boxing Day either.

Similarly on New Year’s Day there will be no bus services operating within the city.

In terms of Ulsterbus/ Goldline services, there will be services as usual on Christmas Eve, but services will stop at around 9pm.

There will be no Goldline/ Ulsterbus services on Christmas Day and most services will not be operating on Boxing Day and New Year’s Day, while cross-border coach services will operate a reduced holiday timetable on these dates.

NI Railways meanwhile will also close early on Christmas Eve and trains to and from Derry will not operate on Christmas Day or Boxing Day.

Sunday services will operate on Sunday December 27 and Saturday timtable services will operate on December 28, 29, 30 and 31 December (with early close on New Year’s Eve). A Sunday service will be in place on New Year’s Day and a limited Enterprise service will run. NI Railways will operate a Saturday service on January 2, a Sunday service on January 3 and a Saturday service on Monday, January 4.
