Police units from An Garda Síochána stations across Ireland upped the ante recently after they organised themselves to take on the viral Jerusalema dance challenge.

The gauntlet had been thrown down by the police force of Switzerland, and undaunted, An Garda Síochána decided to pull out all the stops, with drone cameras deployed to capture facemask wearing squadrons at locations across the country throwing some socially distanced shapes in tandem as part of the challenge.

The stunning video also features some beautiful and striking landscape footage from Ireland, with gardai units showcasing their moves against backdrops of beaches, castles, mountains, rooftops and landscaped gardens by the ruins of stately homes.

Among the most recognisable landmark locations used is Mullaghmore in Sligo with the striking Classiebawn Castle in the background.

Sharing the video on An Garda Síochána’s Facebook page, a spokesperson said; “We have stepped up to the Swiss police #JerusalemaChallenge.

“Gardaí across Ireland answered the call to give the public we serve a lift in these challenging times.”
