Fancy a cuppa from a '˜legendairy' bottle?
For the McBrides are the proud owners of a little piece of Derry history that, once upon a time, would have sat proudly on many kitchen tables in the city - a milk bottle from the Old City Dairy, an institution in Derry for many years.
Edward, a brother of another Derry institution - the late, great Noel McBride - brought the bottle back to the United States with him after a visit home to Derry in 1965.

Hide AdAnd, ever since, the McBrides - who live in Baltimore, Maryland - have used it to ensure visitors from Derry feel right at home.
Theresa McBride, Edward and Ethna’s daughter, told the ‘Journal’: “Anytime someone comes over from Derry, they fill it up with milk and serve it with their tea. It has lasted all these years, even after several moves, and still has the ink label intact. You can even read the phone number on the bottle. So, Derry history lives on here in Baltimore!”
