Greater Shantallow marks International Women's Day

During the last few weeks youth and community workers within the Greater Shantallow area have come together 'to build a collective approach in delivering services'.

A spokesperson said: “Our first project together is celebrating “International Women’s Day 8th March.”

To mark the day, a number of events have been organised on Sunday, March 5th from 3pm-6pm at the Shantallow Youth Club.

“We ask young women from age of 11-25 only to come along and have fun,” said the spokesperson.

During the day there will be guest speakers and discussions. For people who attend there will also be lots of activities to take part in and refreshments will be provided.

International Women’s Day is a global day to celebrate women, unity, reflection, advocacy and action.
