Neil McMonagle was an INLA volunteer from the area who was killed during an undercover SAS operation in Leafair Park on February 2, 1983.

The event this year will include the unveiling of a new mural on a gable wall at the entrance to Leafair Park. This mural was designed and commissioned by the local community. This will then be followed by an IRSP organised wreath laying ceremony at the Neil McMonagle memorial in Leafair Park.
