Jiving farmer Kevin '˜Keepin' er Country!'
‘Keepin ‘er Country’ is a new six-part series from Alleycats TV for BBC Northern Ireland, which travels around Ireland getting a glimpse into the lives of country music fans.
In episode three, on BBC One Northern Ireland, April 18 at 10.45pm, viewers will see Greysteel’s Kevin O’Kane as he prepares for the biggest jiving competition of the summer at the Monaghan Town Country Music Festival.

Hide AdThe 27-year-old farmer/contractor discovered a talent for jiving back in 2010 and said he hasn’t stopped since.
“It turned out to be something I’m good at and, if you’re good at something, you enjoy it. I could dance for hours, flat out.
“You couldn’t beat it,” he said.
In between farming suckler cows and sheep, operating a contractor business and running dance classes, Kevin also does a coal run.
“I’ve a busy schedule. I just wish we had better weather so I could get dancing,” he said.

Hide AdKevin also runs dance classes in Muff, County Donegal, in Derry and in Greysteel.
“The first class I held in Greysteel, 112 people turned up,” said Kevin.
“I’m fitter now than ever.”
