Man '˜exposed' himself near Lowry's Lane

Police in Derry are investigating a report of a man exposing himself to a woman in Lowry's Lane near the Springtown Road on Tuesday evening.

The woman, who was walking her dog at the time of the alleged incident, contacted police immediately.

“Enquiries are ongoing into the report of a male who exposed himself to a woman walking her dog in the Springtown Road area of Derry at around 9.20pm on the evening of Tuesday April 5,” said a PSNI spokesperson.

“The male was described as being aged in his teens, with dark hair and swarthy complexion and was wearing a grey hooded top and grey tracksuit bottoms.

Police would ask anyone with any information to contact officers at Strand Road on 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.”

Sinn Fein councillor, Micky Cooper, said local constituents had also contacted him about a similar incident.

““I have been contacted by a number of people concerned about reports that a man has been exposing himself to passers-by in the Lowry’s Lane area of the city,” said Colr. Cooper.

“This is very worrying situation as this lane is used by a high volume of people on a daily basis.

“Following these reports I contacted the PSNI and raised my concerns .I would urge anyone who sees anyone acting suspiciously or falls victim to this person to bring forward that information to the PSNI,” concluded Colr. Cooper.
