The front man, who won a host of medals during his Candy Stripes career, goes for a traditional 4-4-2 formation, so here's his best 11 players he played with at the Brandywell and the reasons why....
5. Darren Kelly
Darren Kelly (Centre-Back): Darren made his debut when he was 16, in our league winning season, so that says everything. His presence as a centre-half was unbelievable. He headed the ball 60/70 yards and when you heard 'Darren's Ball' you moved out of the way. He enjoyed defending and nothing fazed him.
6. Paddy McCourt
Paddy McCourt (Right-Wing): What a player Paddy was and I don't know what to say about how good he was. I remember his debut for us against Bohemians and three or four Bohs players were chasing him and couldn't get near him and I thought wow. He also like me got a better first touch because of Hargy's throw-in's.
7. Paul Hegarty
Paul Hegarty (Centre-Midfield): Higgsy, who was part of the treble winning side, was a top drawer player. I saw straight away what he was like, he was a born winner. Nothing fazed him and he was very underrated. Nowadays centre-midfielders pass sideways, Higgsy did not, he always played forward. Top player.
8. Ciaran Martyn
Ciaran Martyn (Centre-Midfield): For this system I think Ciaran would suit Paul Hegarty. He consistently scored goals from midfield throughout his career. He was very underrated and his game helped my game. People maybe also did not see that he tackled, won headers and battled throughout.
