New safety barriers outside Ballymagroarty primary school
Sinn Féin Councillor Eric McGinley said the new barriers have been erected in response to concerns raised by representatives from the Irish medium primary school.
The move follows talks and an assessment of the situation outside the school, which is located along the Groarty Road.

McGinley said, adding: “The parents and teachers had expressed their fears that the absence of barriers were endangering children who were running on to the busy road when leaving the school.
“In conjunction with the placement of new flashing signs, the installation of these barriers will provide increased protection to the children.”
Colr. McGinley added: “I would like to take this opportunity to thank Transport NI for responding positively to this safety issue.”
