PE for man on sexassault charges

A 28-year-old man charged with sexually assaulting a woman and stealing a pair of underwear appeared at Derry Magistrate's Court yesterday for a preliminary enquiry.

A PPS solicitor said Mr Ronan Gillen of Cornshell Fields had a prima facie case to answer in relation to a charge of intentionally touching the woman in a sexual manner and a charge of stealing the underwear during a city centre burglary, both alleged to have been committed on September 20, 2015. He’ll be returned to the Crown Court for arraignment on November 29.
