So, the ‘Journal’ has compiled a list of ways to show your four-legged love how much they really mean to you this Valentine’s Day – some of these won’t cost a penny either!
Remember to always make sure any products you give your pet are dog friendly and check with your vet if you are unsure.

5. Hand feeding
This one isn't for everyone but a great way to bond with your dog is to ditch the bowl and hand-feed them their dinner. It teaches the dog that they can trust you and also gives you a chance to get up and personal with them. This is especially beneficial for rescue dogs who are learning how to trust again. You could also invest in a treat pouch and put the dogs dinner in there to reward them for good behaviour throughout the day. You'll see the dogs behaviour improve leaps and bounds if you have a more challenging pet at home. Photo: Daniel Krasoń - stock.adobe.com

6. Buy them a new toy
Okay maybe your house is coming down with toys now but one more couldn't hurt surely! Photo: Patryk Kosmider - stock.adobe.co

7. Bake some doggy-friendly treats
Why not get creative in the kitchen and bake up a storm with your pup! There's hundreds of easy recipes on the internet that your dog will go crazy for. There's no better way to a dog's heart than through it's stomach. Always check that your ingredients are dog friendly beforehand though! Photo: V&P Photo Studio - stock.adobe.c

8. A wee snuggle on the sofa
Sure just have a wee snuggle on the sofa and watch a good film after a long day of being a dog. Photo: Anna - stock.adobe.com
