Kneecap, featuring Derry member DJ Próvai, also known as JJ Ó Dochartaigh, are set to perform at Coachella on April 11, 2025.

Announced on November 21, Kneecap was slotted for the first day of the California music festival, the same day as Lady Gaga’s performance.

In an Instagram post, the trio simply said: “Well well a Chairde Gael! We’ll be seeing you in the desert @coachella playing the Friday.”

Kneecap are an Irish rap trio, blending both the Irish language and English to create their own style of music.

The group recently released a self titled movie which tells a fictionalised version of their lives. The film led the nominations at the BIFA awards shortlist with an impressive 14 nominations. Highlights include nods for Best Screenplay, Best Director for Peppiatt, and joint lead performances for Kneecap members Liam Óg Ó Hannaidh, Naoise Ó Cairealláin, and JJ Ó Dochartaigh.

Kneecap is set to perform in Derry this Saturday, November 23.
