We asked readers of the Derry Journal to send us details of carers they would like to pay tribute to and we have been delighted to receive each and every one of these heart-warming messages.
Thank you to everyone who has shared photos and messages with us.
We hope you enjoy celebrating the work these very special people are involved in and the difference they make to so many lives. A big "thank you" to every one of them!

JoJo Holland: "My lovely mammy Angela McLaughlin who works in a care home looking after lots of elderly and disabled residents. She loves her work, she's also an amazing granny to my son Charlie (4) and daughter Angela (almost 2)."

6.
Roslyn Doherty: "I couldnt be more proud of my daughter Alisha Doherty who is a carer in Culmore Manor, she does an amazing job every day with a smile on her face. They have been working tirelessly throughout this pandemic to ensure their residents are receiving the best care possible without a day complaining, they put their own health at risk to ensure the priority of the residents' health. There has been all kinds of super heroes through all this but Alisha your mine, love you,"

7.
Ann Bond: "This is my daughter Emma-Louise who is a teacher and does caring also and has done more caring in the last few months because the teaching has been in hold and has not stopped working helping other out and looking after me also. Absolutely so proud of her."

Kim Marie: "My beautiful mum, Cathy O'Donnell who cares for my dad at home. It is a full time job, one she doesn't get paid for, nor does she get the same recognition as those who work in the health service. There are so many stay at home carers like her who care for their loved ones 24/7 and deserve as much recognition and appreciation as all other care workers out there. They do an amazing job, nonstop, some never even getting a break from it all. And it's all done for love. Regardless, it's a hard position to be in and I am super proud of my mum and respect her so much."
