Hollywood stars Dominic Cooper and Sarah Bolger to speak about Donegal-shot movie 'The Lightkeeper' on the Late Late Show

Malin Head and Culdaff were among the locations transformed into movie sets back in 2023, as the cast and crew of the movie descended on the peninsula for filming.

At that time, it had the working title ‘Cry from the Sea,’ and has now been renamed ‘The Lightkeeper’.

RTE said the co-stars ‘will talk awards season, share stories from filming in Donegal and Mayo and reveal what audiences can expect from this film.’

The Lightkeeper also includes movie star Aidan Quinn (Michael Collins, Legends of the Fall) and featured many local people as ‘extras’.

Directed by renowned director Vic Sarin, the movie, produced by Sepia Films and ShinAwil, written by award-winning Irish screenwriter and director Ciaran Creagh.

According to IMDB, ‘The Lightkeeper’ focuses on Seamus, a lighthouse keeper ‘whose elaborate rituals keep him at a distance from the outside world as he awaits the Each-Uisce to take him.’

"His carefully constructed prison is blown open by three people who change the course of his life.”

Inishowen is a popular location for movies. In recent weeks, filming got underway for a new feature film, titled ‘The Flying Mountain’.
