Man who chased minor with bottle threatening to cut his throat jailed at Derry court

A 25-year-old man who has 129 previous convictions has been jailed at Derry Magistrate's Court for assaulting a 15-year-old among other offences.

Matthew Anderson (25) of no fixed abode admitted a series of offences on July 30, just days after receiving a suspended sentence for 'a plethora of offences.'

The court heard Anderson had slapped a mobile phone out of the hand of a 15-year-old before picking it up and throwing it out of the Peace Garden, breaking a car windshield.

He chased another minor with a glass bottle, threatening to cut his throat. The victim had never seen Anderson before.
