However, for the first time in the celebrity's career a couple of photos of Kim with husband Kanye West captured the attention of Ireland with the mere mentions of Downings in Co. Donegal at the weekend..

At the weekend, Kardashian-West (39) shared some photographs of herself with husband and rapper, Kanye West (43) on his $14m ranch in Wyoming with her 177 million Instagram followers.

The images were shared all over the world but things took a turn for the better when someone on Twitter suggested the loved up couple looked as if they they were snuggling up to one another on "caravan decking in the Downings" and not the USA.

A woman called Hannah O'Brien retweeted Kardashian-West's post with the caption: "Why do they look like they’re on a caravan decking in the Downings?"

Hannah's retweet has been liked by almost 5,000 people on Twitter and has also been shared hundreds of times.

The floodgates opened after Hannah's humorous retweet and what followed was a brilliant example of just how utterly wonderful the collective Irish sense of humour can be.

"I'm sure I seen that outfit Kim's wearing in Penny's Letterkenny for €5," joked one man.

"Thank God they’re in their rain gear...the weather is desperate," added a woman.

Others suggested the couple were really spending lockdown in the popular Donegal coastal village where they lived on a staple of "spicy sausages and spuds from Mickey Joe's" and walks on the beach.

Who needs Wyoming when you have Downings, eh?
