Movie magic as new feature film shoots in Inishowen

Filming has been getting underway across Inishowen in recent days for a new feature film, titled ‘The Flying Mountain’.

Film crews have been spotted at various locations across the peninsula.

It is understood ‘The Flying Mountain’ is a drama that follows two brothers as they chase life’s biggest questions — from the cliffs of Ireland to Tibet’s mythical “Flying Mountain.” Along the way, one brother confronts a chosen death, while the other discovers that his own life’s path is still unfinished.

The film is written and directed by Nicolas Steiner, and co-produced by Irish producers David Collins, Eamon Hughes, and Line Producer Edwina Forkin.

Inishowen is no stranger to film crews, as its picturesque backdrops have been used in a number of movies and TV shows, including ‘Star Wars: The Last Jedi,’ when stars like Mark Hamill were spotted.

Movie ‘The Lightkeeper/Star from the Sea' which features Aidan Quinn and Dominic Cooper, was also filmed in Inishowen and is expected to be released this year.
