The reasons for the population increase are manifold.
We collated the data fron NISRA between 2014 and 2019.

In first place in Derry, the area with the biggest population change was Strand Road ward. The area has seen a population change of 12% or 456 people. In 2014 it was 3,777 and in 2019 it was 4,233.

In second position comes the Creggan South ward with an increase in population of 9.7%. In 2014 the population was 2572 and in 2019 the population increased to 2822.

In 3rd position the next biggest growth took place in the Shantallow West ward with an increase of 9.71% or 658 people.

Next in the growth stakes comes the Holly Mount Council ward with a growth of 7.6% or 410 people.
