Lyons cites limited budget when asked to secure funding for Foyle Haven Day Centre in Derry

SDLP MLA Mark H. Durkan asked the Minister for Communities whether he would work with Executive colleagues to secure funding for the vital local support centre for homeless people.
“My Department is facing a challenging budget position. I have already taken the decision to protect funding for Homelessness services at last year’s level, however this budget is under pressure.

Hide Ad"The consultation on the Equality Impact Assessment for my 2024/25 budget closed on 3 September and responses are currently being considered before final decisions are taken with regards funding. Any future actions by DfC for Homelessness services will be subject to available budget.
“I will continue to make the case for more funding for housing and homelessness,” said the Communities Minister.
