Michael Concannon said that while there will be no public search this weekend, the authorities were planning to continue to look for clues about his disappearance.

He added that there has been no new leads.

It is now over two months since dementia sufferer Mr Concannon (71) went missing. He was last seen getting off the Fernabbey bus at Lenamore Road in Derry, close to the border.

“Nothing has changed, I’m sad to say,” Michael said. “But there is that wee stretch now in the evenings and hopefully it will work in our favour and the weather will remain more favourable. Up until now it has been atrocious.”

Lowland Search and Rescue experts are co-ordinating the current round of searches, and last weekend saw a sweep of the rural areas from behind the Halfway House down to Fahan Church searched.

It is understood that this weekend will see the expert search crews conduct a re-examination of some of the ground previously covered in Inishowen.
