Shane (13) hopes to make the right move!

Shane Melly has been in contact with local estate agent Anaeleigh McCormick since earlier this year, showing great interest in houses and a potential future career in the business.

The 13-years-old had regularly asked Anaeleigh if he could join her out in the field, to get a feel for the job.

But it wasn’t until he put an appeal out on Pat Ramsey’s Facebook page that the estate agent put the wheels in motion.

Speaking to the ‘Journal,’ she said: “When the post went up I was inundated with people sending me the post and tagging me in it.

“So I went to meet Shane and his mammy and checked with my solicitor that it was ok, and got the go ahead.

“Last week he came out with me for an afternoon, and he is buzzing. 
“He has been watching my Instagram for the last while, and he’s obsessed with it. He’s just so clued in.”

Anaeleigh said that she showed Shane a house that she had put on the market a day before, showed him a video tour of the house, and asked him to value it. “He valued it for the same amount as I did. I couldn’t believe it.

“I’m going to try and take Shane out one afternoon a week now.

“He loved the experience, he didn’t stop grinning all afternoon. He said it was the best day of his life,” she added.
