Security operation ongoing in Derry - road closures in place
Police are currently at the scene of a security alert in Derry’s Greater Shantallow area.
Several roads have been cordoned off since the early hours of this morning as a result of the operation, which remains ongoing.
A PSNI spokesperson said: “The Greenhaw Road/ Racecourse Road/ Glengalliagh Road and Fern Road have been closed.
“It is envisaged they will be closed for some time. Please avoid these areas.”
No further details about the nature of the operation have been released at this stage.
