Coronavirus: Seven new positive cases bring COVID-19 total in the north to 52; there are now 221 cases across Ireland

Seven new positive COVID-19 cases have been confirmed in the North bringing the total number to 52.

The Department of Health confirmed: "As of 2 p.m. on Monday, March 16, testing has resulted in seven new positive cases, bringing the total number of confirmed cases in Northern Ireland to 52.

"The total number of tests completed in Northern Ireland is 1,171.

"People with mild symptoms - new persistent cough and/or fever - should stay at home and self-isolate. They will not require testing and will not therefore be included in testing totals."

With 79 new confirmed cases of COVID-19 in the South over the weekend, the total number of cases on the island of Ireland is now 221.
