‘The Mannequin Challenge’ involves groups of people who all stand still in various different poses and someone films the entire moment before posting the clip to social media.

Some have described ‘The Mannequin Challenge’ as similar to ‘The Harlem Shake’ Internet meme which took the world by storm back in 2013.

The challenge, which is starting to go viral all over the world, arrived in the North of Ireland earlier this week when researchers at the Cancer Research UK Centre in Belfast filmed their own version of ‘The Mannequin Challenge’ and shared it on social media.

It is believed ‘The Mannequin Challenge’ originated from Edward H. White High School in Jacksonville when they uploaded a video to last month. Since that time, ‘The Mannequin Challenge’ has gone viral.

NFL teams the Pittsburgh Steelers and the New York Giants uploaded their version of the challenge in the last few days.

The former members of ‘Destiny’s Child’, Beyoncé, Michelle Williams and Kelly Rowland, created a video on November 7 and British singer/songwriter, Adele, created a version of the challenge earlier this week.

Defeated U.S. Presidential candidate, Hillary Clinton, created a video the night before the election. Those who took part in the video included husband and former U.S. President, Bill Clinton and musician, Jon Bon Jovi.
