Despite being home to Britain's highest peaks, there were no Scottish walks in the top 10, although Linn of Dee to Ben Macdui in the Cairngorms, the UK's tallest mountain, Ben Nevis, and the famous West Highland Way did make the top 20.
The results of the poll featured in the ITV programme Britain’s Favourite Walks: Top 100, which claimed to have carried out the largest ever survey into the UK’s hiking habits.
