You could bag free travel on your next European holiday, thanks to a new competition launched by ferry company, Discover Ferries.

A total of 600 tickets are up for grabs in the 'Big Ferry Fortnight' competition, with destinations including holiday spots in France, Belgium, the Netherlands and the Isle of Wight.

The tickets include a return journey back to the UK, and offers include everything from day trips to tickets for longer holidays abroad. Thirteen operators are taking part in the promotion.

Brittany Ferries is offering routes to France along with DFDS, which also has tickets to the Netherlands on offer.

P&O Ferries has routes to France, the Netherlands and Belgium on offer, or you could bag a trip to St Mary's in the Isles of Scilly with Isles of Scilly Travel.

How to enter

To be in with a chance of getting tickets, you'll need to head to the Big Ferry Fortnight website and register for a free account. On the site, you'll be able to browse all the routes on offer in the promotion, including information on how many tickets are up for grabs.

You can only apply for each offer once, but there's nothing to stop you applying for more than one route, if several take your fancy.

The ballot will remain open until 12 March 2020, with emails sent out to successful applicants between 16 and 20 March. You'll have to claim the tickets between these dates.

If you check the 'Your Tickets' section of the website you'll be able to see which tickets you applied for and information on whether you've secured any.

The small print

Tickets will usually be valid for two people, though some operators also throw in vehicle tickets for free - you'll have to check the details when you apply.

If you're initially unsuccessful in the ballot, there's still a chance to bag tickets on 22 March when any unclaimed tickets will be returned to the ballot for other holidaymakers to grab.
