Donaghey, who revealed15 of his squad travelled to Dublin to cheer on Ruaidhrí Higgins’ men last November in the FAI Cup final, believes tomorrow evening’s friendly is perfect for his side.

"Most of my squad are Derry City fans. I think 14 or 15 from our group went to the FAI Cup final, so they are all Derry City fans and it's great that my squad can test themselves against some of the top players in the country.

Hopefully there will be a good crowd and while we are obviously making sure everyone is fine for our league games, as our competitive matches are what I'm focusing on, we always enjoy playing in the Billy Kee Memorial game and Wednesday night will be no different.
