Optimism surrounding a new, state of the art clubhouse, pitch and pavilion is being mirrored by increasing numbers at underage levels and the promise of a bright future. As Games Promotion Officer at the Creggan club, Clonmel native O'Donnell has played a a pivotal role in taking the club back into schools and back into the heart of the community.
Since his own playing days, O'Donnell has never been too far from the action at Piggery Ridge so we asked him to search his memory banks and come up with his own 'Dolan's Dream 15' and it's quite a side! Have a look and see what you think . . .

A real flying machine at corner-forward for almost 20 years and still troubling defences with his pace and direct running. Might have made the first 15 if he wasn't late for team photo! Photo: Derry Journal

Can play half-back or half forward and equally adept at both. Great engine to get about the pitch with an eye for a pass. Won the Mac Larnon Cup with St. Columb's College in 2002. Photo: Derry Journal

Classy corner-forward. Great at making space for himself and had a brilliant football brain with the odd appearance in nets too which he made look easy with top class kick-outs. Photo: Derry Journal

Forward with electric pace. His first few seasons playing senior were very high scoring which we hope to see return again this year. Difficult to live with when on form and has huge potential. Photo: Derry Journal
