Semple, who won a host of top flight honours during his career, is now a coach with Maiden City Soccer Academy and he goes for a 3-4-3 formation.
So here's Semps best 11 players he played with and the reasons why....
5. Tom Mohan
Tom Mohan (Right Wing-Back - Derry City): Tom might not have been as technical or skillful as some wingers, but made up for this with his work rate. I honestly have never seen anyone work and run like Tom did, he left everything he had on the pitch. Nightmare for the opposition. He is a top man as well.
6. Paul Hegarty
Paul Hegarty (Centre-Midfielder - Institute): Was lucky enough to have played with Higgsy at both Derry and Stute. Another player who gave absolutely everything on the pitch. Got about and always knew when to make that tackle, winning the ball back and doing it simple. So strong in possession. A massive player for us at both clubs, who also would let you know when he was not happy.
7. Anthony Gorman
Anthony Gorman (Centre-Midfielder - Linfield): I travelled and played with Tony at Linfield. An unbelievable athlete, footballer and a true pro. He trained like he played and always to his maximum. He could run, tackle, pass and some of the goals he scored were a joke, unbelievable striker of a ball. Thunderbolts.
8. Adam Drury
Adam Drury (Left Wing-Back - Peterborough United): Played with Dru at Peterborough, he could play in a number of positions. He was like a machine, strong, fit and great in the air, lovely left foot. Dru loved a tackle and always seemed to come away with the ball. Quite off the pitch, leader on it. Went on to captain Norwich City during an 11 year spell.
