The woman, aged over 80, died in a residential/care home setting on Monday, according to the latest data published by the Department of Health this afternoon.

The total number of deaths in Derry and Strabane has now risen to 80.

Three times more people (59) have died locally since September than during the first wave of the illness (21).

Derry and Strabane has the seventh highest coronavirus death toll by local government district after Belfast (267), Armagh City, Banbridge and Craigavon (112), Antrim and Newtownabbey (98), Causeway Coast and Glens (93), Lisburn and Castlereagh (89) and Mid Ulster (89).
