Special guest Marlene Hill to join up with Playhouse cast

The Playhouse has announced that the very wonderful Marlene Hill will make a special guest appearance at '˜An Evening with Doris Day and Gordon MacRae' this weekend.

Fresh from touring with the ‘Swinging At The Cotton Club’ Theatre Tour throughout the UK, she will be giving a taste of what’s to come ahead of headlining the official bar of the City of Derry Jazz Festival- The Playhouse Speakeasy!

Marlene Little Hill stuns and delights audiences with her many different styles of music from the gospel songs of her upbringing in the Pennsylvania Baptist Churches to the beautiful ballads of Billie Holiday.

She will join star of musical theatre Alex Sharpe and bass baritone voice Karl McGuckin this Valentine’s Weekend.

‘An Evening with Doris Day and Gordon MacRae’ will be performed as part of The Playhouse Lifetime Achievement Series at The Millennium Forum on Friday (12 February).

Doris Day will be played by star of musical theatre Alex Sharpe, who has toured America as a lead soloist with the Irish Singing Sensation Celtic Women and starred alongside Colm Wilkinson in his famed role as Jean Valijean in les Miserables in the West End.

The role of Gordon MacRae will be performed by beautiful bass baritone voice Karl McGuckin.
