Bahá’ís in Derry to mark faith founders with special celebration
Bahá’ís in Derry will gather in the Verbal Arts Centre on Monday evening to celebrate the birthdays of the twin founders of the faith Bahá’u’lláh and His Forerunner, the Báb.
From 6.30pm on November 9 members of the faith will enjoy an evening of music, stories, reflections and fellowship to honour the lives and teachings of these seminal figures.
Baháʼu’lláh (Mírzá Ḥusayn-Alí Núrí) was a 19th century Persian nobleman whose teachings inform the beliefs of Bahá’is today.
He was inspired by The Báb, born ʻAlí-Muḥammad Shírází, another founder figure.

Dr. Keith Munro, who has followed the Bahá’i faith for over 60 years, said: “The Bahá’i faith has, for 182 years, been grown to every country in the world. Temples are being built that are open to all members of the human race, every colour and every faith.
“Our core belief is the Oneness of the human race, the Oneness of God and the Oneness of Religion. There has never been a split in the faith.”
