Invest NI secures new office in Derry's Ebrington
Economy Minister Dr Caoimhe Archibald has announced that Invest NI’s new North West Regional Office will be located in Derry’s Ebrington Plaza.
A spokesperson for Invest NI said the 300sqm Grade A office will serve as a hub for driving economic development in the North West.
Economy Minister Dr Caoimhe Archibald: “Strengthening Invest NI’s regional network is an important element of my Sub Regional Economic Plan. With Invest NI recently appointing Aeidin McCarter to lead the North West region, I’m now delighted to announce that the new Regional Office will be located in Derry’s Ebrington Plaza. This prestigious new office will ensure that Invest NI is more visible, accessible, and embedded in the local community. I look forward to the office officially opening in the New Year and to using the office as a base to meet both local businesses and inward investors.”
Invest NI has had a base in Derry at Timber Quay since 2006. Following the purchase of Timber Quay by Ulster University, the agency has been looking for a new office location. The new office at Ebrington Plaza is a 10-year lease.

Kieran Donoghue, CEO, Invest NI said: “Stimulating further economic development in the North West and across Northern Ireland is a key priority for Invest NI. We are working to deliver more investment and more high-quality projects and jobs.
“We are monitoring our progress on this carefully across several KPIs including the volume of investment, value of investment and the jobs we are supporting outside the Belfast Metropolitan Area (BMA). Last year we supported 263 projects in the North West that will result in over £80m of investment and create over 400 new jobs.
“Locating in Ebrington Plaza ensures that our new office is close to some of our most significant clients in the region, while also giving us direct access to the entire city. The office will provide a welcoming and accessible space for businesses to meet with our teams. The office will also create a very positive first impression for new international investors when we bring them to the area to consider the North West for potential investment.
“It is my hope that the office will be viewed as a representation of our commitment to regional balance.”

The new office, totalling 299sqm / 3,220 ft2 will include a dedicated reception area, with seating and desks for informal meetings, four meeting rooms, a 22-seat Boardroom and a separate 20-desk Invest NI office space.
Aeidin McCarter, Head of Regional Business for the North West, Invest NI said: “The new office will be a modern, progressive and welcoming space for our clients, entrepreneurs, partner organisations and potential investors. As well as providing workspace for Invest NI staff to support economic development right across the North West, the office will offer businesses a place to meet with our specialist teams, access support and advice, and connect with partners to explore opportunities to start, grow, innovate and export. Clients, potential investors and local stakeholders visiting us will be able to use the informal areas for impromptu meetings and calls.
“Now we have a lease agreed, we now need to move to the fit-out phase. We hope to be in a position to move into the office in early 2027.”
