'Shakespeare comes to shanty' as Derry comedian Adam Laughlin performs Macbeth
Award-winning comedian Adam Laughlin has said he is taking on his most ambitious show yet, performing the entirety of Macbeth himself in a fast-paced, irreverent and chaotic reimagining of Shakespeare’s classic tragedy.
Titled A Tale Told by an Idiot, organisers said: “Shakespeare’s Macbeth as you’ve never seen it before. One actor. One Derry accent. One of Shakespeare’s bloodiest tragedies.”
With more than 15 years’ experience performing and hosting comedy across some of Northern Ireland’s biggest and best-loved venues, Adam is known for his sharp observations, captivating storytelling and high-energy performances.
Described as “unmissable” and “a must-see”, A Tale Told by an Idiot is Macbeth stripped back, turned sideways and delivered by one very enthusiastic idiot.
The show takes place on Friday, November 6, in Studio 2. Doors open at 6.30pm, with the performance beginning at 7pm.
