Teen due in court charged with disorderly and riotous behaviour in Derry
A teenager is due to appear at Derry Magistrates’ Court on Monday after being charged with disorderly and riotous behaviour at the weekend.
It follows what police described as ‘a short period of spontaneous disorder’ in the Bishop Street and Nailor’s Row area on Saturday.
The 16-year-old is due to appear before Bishop Street Courthouse on Monday, June 15 charged with disorderly and riotous behaviour. As is usual procedure, all charges will be reviewed by the Public Prosecution Service.
Meanwhile, a 14-year-old male has been released unconditionally, while two 13-year-old males, and a 16-year-old male, have been released, pending a report to the Public Prosecution Service.

The arrests followed reports of a crowd of youths gathered in the Bishop Street and Nailor’s Row area of the city on Saturday.
At approximately 6.30pm, reports were received that youths, with their hoods up, engaged in a short period of spontaneous disorder involving throwing stones into the area of the Fountain Estate.
Five arrests were made.
