Smart glass and phone abusers should be made feel like ‘pariahs’ – Campbell
Gregory Campbell says societal change needs to be realised to ensure those who use smart glasses or phones to film the abuse or bullying of women and girls should be made to feel like 'pariahs'.
The DUP MP made the call after listening to the case of an ‘appalling’ assault on a girl in England.
"We need to do what we can to get a societal change so that the friends, associates and families of those who carry out such activity, whether using smart glasses or mobile phones, understand that it is totally appalling and unacceptable and that they will be made to feel like the pariahs that they are in society," Mr. Campbell said.
He was reacting to an incident in England where a girl was filmed while she had her 'head smashed against a concrete step' and was violently attacked.
"The violence was shared, forwarded, replayed and discussed. Her humiliation was repeated in classrooms, corridors and group chats," said Liberal Democrat Edward Morello.
