The only American Football team in Derry and Donegal, held the first of their ‘try-out’ sessions of 2016 last Sunday at the YMCA, Drumahoe as they continue their search for new blood ahead of this year’s IAFL campaign.

Over 20 ‘rookies’ turned out to the Vipers’ home venue, known as the ‘Viper Pit’, for that opening try-out.

And the Vipers’ next session is also expected to attract a bumper crowd as they take their recruitment drive to the Aura Leisure Centre in Letterkenny this Sunday, January 17th at 10 a.m.

Following last season’s success, in what was the club’s inaugural campaign, the Vipers are expected to grow from strength-to-strength.

Having finished fourth in Division Two, Head Coach, Jason Brock’s outfit have high hopes of challenging the top teams in the division for promotion this year as they aim to begin where they left off in 2015 following their magnificent final day 17-6 victory over The Galway Warriors.

The Vipers organisation has been busy in the off-season and have added a defensive co-ordinator to the team in the form of veteran Line-Backer, Paddy Maguire who, along side Chicago born Head Coach, Brock, may have already spotted a few stars of the future.

The Vipers are currently looking for sponsors and donations to help fund their upcoming season.
