The City faithful are hopeful of a good campaign for Declan Devine's side who have brought back local duo Danny Lafferty and David Parkhouse to the Brandywell.
It's also a big season for young goalkeeper Nathan Gartside, who received a shock call up to Ian Baraclough's Northern Ireland squad for next week's World Cup qualifying games against Italy and Bulgaria and Derry fans are hoping he has an impressive year between the sticks.

I always look forward to the new season. Its a chance to reset and dust down the scarves and hats and hope for some silverware come October. The legendary Jock Stein said "football without fans paying at the turnstile is nothing". As a commentator, last season I was privileged to attend games but without the fans it was really difficult. Being a former Carnhill man I'm looking forward to seeing Danny Lafferty back in action on home soil. Hat tip also to David Parkhouse as I can't wait to see him scoring goals and celebrating in front of the red and white army.

Yeah, it's feels like forever since the end of last season. Looking forward to seeing what sort of squad Decky has put together and hopefully he has us challenging for Europa League spots again. I'm looking forward to seeing any live football in general. I'm looking forward to see how Nathan Gartside steps up to the Number 1 goalkeeper role. He stepped in a couple of times last season and looked decent.

From what I've seen in pre-season they are actually looking like a proper Derry City team. Giving their all and having pride in the jersey. I can't wait to get back into the games it's been far too long, I pass the Brandywell everyday and not been able to go into and see it locked up I'd heartbreaking. The player I'm looking forward to seeing the most is Ronan Boyce. Fantastic defender reads the game very well and does everything simple.

Really looking forward to it. Last year was a disaster on all fronts but it’s a fresh start now and a chance to put that to bed. With all the changes within the squad I’m hopeful for a big improvement this season. The streaming service is great but it doesn’t compare to the sights and sounds of the Brandywell on a match night. I’ll never take it for granted again! I'm delighted to see David Parkhouse return.
