Yet away from his job as the city's GAA Games Promotion Officer, the Doire Trasna stalwart has filled almost every role possible in the Waterside club, should it be managing the senior team to a couple of Junior Championship victories or over-seeing the blossoming underage structures.
His tireless work means there few better placed to cast his eye over the best of the Pearses playing staff and select his own 'Doire Trasna Dream 15' and he's picked quite a squad. See what you make of it . . .
9. MIDFIELD: Enda Lindsay
Enda soldiered for years alongside Quigley, doing the dirty work that so often goes unseen to many, like winning breaking ball, tracking back and putting in tackles. Also contributed well with scores. Photo: Derry Journal
10. HALF-FORWARD: Caolan O'Connell
Caolan has devastating pace and troubles every team with his direct running. Has contributed with plenty of scores as well as creating options for those around him. Should be our chief play-maker for some years to come. Photo: Derry Journal
11. HALF-FORWARD: Sean McNaught
Sean has been probably our most consistent performer for a long number of
years. Quietly goes about his job and gets through Trojan amount of work. Excellent vision and can pick out a pass. Brilliant play-maker. Photo: Derry Journal
12. HALF-FORWARD: Colin Murray
Colin consistently produces unmarkable performances. Scores from play and frees and can shoot or pass with either foot. Surprisingly strong given his height but very consistent. The player the opposition always looks out for! Photo: Derry Journal
