Optimism surrounding a new, state of the art clubhouse, pitch and pavilion is being mirrored by increasing numbers at underage levels and the promise of a bright future. As Games Promotion Officer at the Creggan club, Clonmel native O'Donnell has played a a pivotal role in taking the club back into schools and back into the heart of the community.
Since his own playing days, O'Donnell has never been too far from the action at Piggery Ridge so we asked him to search his memory banks and come up with his own 'Dolan's Dream 15' and it's quite a side! Have a look and see what you think . . .

9. MIDFIELD: Alan Grant
Current Derry senior hurler who has won numerous awards, for the team and as an individual. Can play anywhere. A hurler first but hugely talented footballer and when Dolan's have him, it feels like we can beat anyone | jpimedia Photo: Derry Journal

10. HALF-FORWARD: Gary Cassidy
Flying machine. Technically great player with superb skills set. 'Cass' was a leader and a real warrior, when he put a tackle in, or created a score from nothing, it sparked the whole team into action. | jpimedia Photo: Derry Journal

11. HALF-FORWARD: Paul Loughery
Just get the ball to Paul and he will do the rest! Great at pinging a ball from anywhere and lethal from play and frees. Superb in the air and no doubt he was as good as anything in the county in his prime. | jpimedia Photo: Derry Journal

12. HALF-FORWARD: Sammy Robinson
Half-forward or half-back, Sammy could play either. Was brilliant at controlling the tempo of games with his ability to hold the ball when you needed things calmed down. Could also pick a pass. | jpimedia Photo: Derry Journal
