Trillick's Lee Brennan hit 1-07 against Eglish at the weekend.

County champions Trillick served notice they aren’t going to give up the O’Neill Cup without a fight after a devastating final quarter saw them ease to victory over Eglish at Augher on Sunday afternoon.

Eglish gave as good as they got in the first half and with the interval approaching the sides were locked together on 0-6 apiece, Lee Brennan, Mattie Donnelly, Daire Gallagher, Sean McKillion and Ryan McKenna all supplying points. Niall Gormley then edged Trillick in front and when the next kick out went straight to Niall Donnelly he fired the ball to the net for a 1-7 to 0-7 half-time lead.

County attacker Lee Brennan hit Trillick’s first four points of the second half but Eglish stayed in touch thanks to scores from the McKenna brothers Ryan and Emmett. Gallagher than had a Trillick brace either side of one from Gormley before Conor McCann got what proved to be Eglish’s last score of the game.

Donnelly, Gormley and Brennan combined for Gallagher to score a 24th minute goal and Brennan added a couple of points before he had the final say with a brilliantly taken major in injury time.
