Man arrested after wheel brace reportedly used to smash window

A 25-year-old man has been arrested after a wheel brace was reportedly used to smash the window of a car in the early hours of this morning.

Police in Derry say they are investigating an incident in the city during which a wheel brace was reportedly used to smash the rear window of a car on Duncreggan Road at around 1.10am.

A verbal altercation between a man and a woman is reported to have occurred just before the damage was caused to a silver Volkswagen Golf.

Police subsequently arrested a 25-year-old man on suspicion of criminal damage, common assault and possession of an offensive weapon in a public place, and he remains in custody at this time.
